Q: When did you start working at WFG? 

A: I started with WFG in December 2016.

 

Q: How did you first learn about WFG? 

A: I’ve known Chuck McDowell for 30 plus years. We met when we were both working in the insurance business. 

 

Q: What drew you to WFG originally? And how has WFG changed since? 

A: Chuck is the reason I got involved with Wesley Financial Group. The biggest change and one I am very proud of, is that the company has grown from 20 employees to over 300 employees.

 

Q: What is your job at WFG? 

A: I was the COO and then moved to President in Jan 2019.

 

Q: What is your favorite part of your job/working at WFG? 

A: Helping clients and watching our employees thrive in a culture of helping others and doing the right thing!

 

Q: What is your favorite client story? 

A: A client sent me a piece of art their son had made during his battle with cancer. The son had passed away.  It was a thank you for helping them. Meant so much to me. I carry it everyday.

 

Q: What do you want people to know about WFG that they may not know? 

A: We are a company of outstanding people with a DNA of helping others.

 

Q: If you could switch your job with anyone else within WFG, whose job would you want? 

A: I am happy where I am. Why? I get to see the company from many different lenses. It makes me very proud of our company and people.

 

Q: Where is your hometown? 

A: Roanoke Virginia and a graduate of Virginia Tech class of 1983. 

 

Q: What are some of your hobbies? 

A: Golf and more golf! 

 

Q: What do you like to do in your free time? 

A: Family. Very blessed to have a great wife of 24 years Laura and an incredible son Hunter McVey.

 

Q: Any random facts you can share? 

A: I am a drummer. Played for my Father Howard McVey as a young man in the gospel group The Virginians.
